老舗三社による、妥協なき手仕事

染色は1921年創業・伊藤染工場（岩手）の手捺染。職人がヘラで繊維の奥まで染料を刷り込み、象徴的なブライトンブルーを幾度もの試作を経て再現しました。仕立ては1936年創業・スギシタ（京都）の監修のもと、伝統的な構造を現代の仕様に落とし込み、ブランドタグには1925年創業・松川レピヤン（福井）による、福井県で受け継がれてきた織物技術「越前織」を採用しています。

The dyeing is hand-printed shirushizome by Ito Some Kojo (est. 1921, Iwate), whose artisans press dye deep into the fibers, reproducing the symbolic Brighton blue through repeated prototyping. Construction was supervised by Sugishita (est. 1936, Kyoto), adapting traditional structures for modern use, while the brand tags employ Echizen-ori — a weaving technique passed down in Fukui — by Matsukawa Lace (est. 1925, Fukui).

各アイテムには、クラブのストライプを大胆に拡大して採用しました。身につけた人が隣り合うと個々のラインが視覚的にリンクし、観客席全体に巨大なストライプが浮かび上がる——個の装いがスタジアムの一体感へと繋がる応援体験を提案します。

Each piece features the club's stripes boldly enlarged. When worn side by side, the individual lines visually connect, bringing a giant stripe to life across the entire stand — a supporter experience where personal attire builds stadium-wide unity.

型を削ぎ、現代に羽織る

袢纏は、一枚の四角い布を余すことなく使い切る、無駄のない製法で作られています。その合理性を崩さぬよう、着用時にしわになる箇所のみを既存の型から削ぎ落とし、襟幅を細く整えることで、現代の衣服の上に羽織りやすい形状を追求しました。江戸時代の装いを、現代の衣服として再定義した一着です。

The hanten is made through an efficient construction that uses a single square of cloth without waste. Preserving that rationality, we trimmed away only the areas that wrinkle when worn and slimmed the collar — refining the traditional pattern into a form that layers easily over modern clothing. Edo-period attire, redefined as a garment for today.

●江戸時代の装い「袢纏」を、現代の衣服として再構築。1枚の四角い布を余すことなく使い切る日本古来の合理性を守りつつ、着用時の不要なシワを削ぎ落とし、襟幅を細く整えた「今の服」に馴染むモダンなシルエット。
●100年続く伊藤染工場による、一版ずつ丁寧に染料を刷り込む伝統技法「手捺染」を採用。繊維の奥深くまで染料を浸透させ、鮮やかで味わいのある色表現を実現。
●デザインには、クラブの象徴であるストライプを大胆に拡大して採用。個々のラインが繋がり、スタジアム全体に巨大なストライプが浮かび上がる、壮大なスケールの応援体験を提案。
●ブランドタグには福井県の伝統工芸「越前織」を採用。高密度に織り上げることで、緻密な文字デザインを「織り」で表現。

This collaboration represents a unique fusion of Brighton & Hove Albion FC’s identity and Japan’s esteemed artisanal traditions.

【Artisan-Handcrafted Hanten】
● The "Hanten"—a quintessential garment of the Edo period—is reinterpreted for the modern wardrobe. While honouring the ancient Japanese principle of minimal-waste construction (using every inch of a single rectangular cloth), the silhouette has been refined to remove unnecessary bulk, featuring a narrow collar that integrates seamlessly with contemporary attire.
● Dyed by the century-old Ito Some Kojo using "Tenassen" (traditional hand-screen printing), where dyes are meticulously applied layer by layer. This technique ensures the pigments penetrate deep into the fibres, resulting in vivid, soulful colour expressions.
● The design features a bold, enlarged interpretation of the club’s iconic stripes. When fans gather, the individual lines connect to form a singular, massive stripe as if the entire stadium is unified—a grand-scale supporter experience.
● The brand tags are crafted using "Echizen-ori," a traditional high-density weaving technique from Fukui Prefecture, allowing for intricate typography to be expressed entirely through the weave.
